A little bit about me and why I do this.

Hi, I'm Ashley — a photographer based in South East London, originally from New Jersey. What I love most about this work is the connection: having a proper chat with someone, getting to know them a little, and trying to capture a moment in their personal history. That's what a good portrait means to me.

Photography came to me through my mom — we've always shared a love of it, and a fascination with preserving personal histories through images. Being a musician and working in theater introduced me to so many incredible people, and that world opened me up to wanting to capture it — the people in it, their stories, their faces. That's really how I found my way to headshots and portraits.

I also know firsthand how anxiety-inducing it can be to have your photo taken — honestly, I'm not that comfortable in front of the camera myself. So I put a lot of care into making every session as relaxed and easy as possible. The goal is that you don't just walk away with a shot you love — you actually have a nice time getting it.

I shoot out of a studio in Bermondsey and on location across London. I've been shooting portraits for four years and I'm still completely obsessed with it. If any of that sounds like what you're looking for, I'd love to hear from you.
